The Pantun Club of SMAN 1, at the Radio Republik Indonesia studio where some of our students unexpectedly had to do poem exchange live, on air.
Cikgu sitting 'under a tree', with a beautiful background of.. Singapore? Or is it another part of Indonesia? O.o
The clouds at Bintan seem so close to the ground, and very white and cotton-like. =)
Rasyidah and me, in front of the Gong structure.
Me and Diy, in the room which we share with Lena. =)
The wardrobe! =D As you can see from the cardigan, Azira and gang (namely Adri and Syidah) came in to crash in our room.
The Pantun Club from SMAN 1 voluntarily accompanied us there as well. =D That's them and me.
In the Mosque which is mostly made of egg whites and sand, by the female Muslim community back then. =D There's a sign that warns us against photo-taking in the foreground, but the tourist guide allowed it!
We visited the burial grounds of Raja Ali Haji, a great Malay literary firgure of his time, and well-known for his Gurindam 12.
THIS, this great modern invention, is the most welcoming treat of the Pulau Penyengat visit that I know of. =D
Old literature scripts from Tanjung Pinang that our tourist guide works hard to rescue before they vanish in time.
And directly opposite, through the exit, is where you will be banished as punishment! Walk the plank! (No, actually we made all that up ourselves =D)
Our school visit to SMAN 1! =D They had their lessons cancelled because many teachers couldn't make it for class, especially what with our arrival.
Visit to a shell souvenir factory. These are turtles made painstakingly with shells. Cute, right? =D Adorable!
